Nutrients for Plant
  Nutrients of plants are essential substances required for their growth, development, and metabolic processes. These include macronutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, as well as micronutrients like iron, zinc, and manganese, which plants need in smaller quantities for optimal health and functioning.
Fertilizer
A fertilizer is a substance or mixture containing essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, applied to soil or plants to enhance growth and productivity by supplying necessary elements for plant nutrition.
Natural fertilizer refers to organic materials derived from natural sources such as plant or animal matter, minerals, or compost that are used to improve soil fertility and provide essential nutrients to plants. Unlike synthetic or chemical fertilizers, natural fertilizers are composed of biodegradable substances and do not contain synthetic additives or harmful chemicals. Examples of natural fertilizers include compost, manure, bone meal, blood meal, seaweed, and guano. They contribute to sustainable agricultural practices by promoting soil health, microbial activity, and overall ecosystem balance.

Chemical fertilizers, while widely used in modern agriculture, come with several disadvantages:

When applied excessively or inappropriately, they can leach into groundwater, rivers, and lakes, causing nutrient runoff and eutrophication, which leads to algal blooms and oxygen depletion in water bodies. Additionally, chemical fertilizers can release greenhouse gases such as nitrous oxide, contributing to climate change.
Soil Degradation: Continuous use of chemical fertilizers can degrade soil quality over time. They can disrupt the balance of soil microorganisms, decrease organic matter content, and alter soil pH levels, leading to soil compaction, erosion, and loss of fertility. Dependency on chemical fertilizers may also reduce soil's ability to retain moisture and nutrients naturally. Negative Impact on Biodiversity: Chemical fertilizers can have adverse effects on biodiversity by disrupting natural ecosystems. They may harm beneficial insects, pollinators, and soil organisms, leading to a decline in biodiversity. Moreover, the loss of biodiversity can destabilize ecosystems and reduce their resilience to environmental stressors such as pests and diseases.
Health Risks: Chemical fertilizers may pose health risks to humans and animals. Exposure to chemical fertilizers during application, handling, or consumption of contaminated food products can lead to acute or chronic health issues, including respiratory problems, skin irritation, and gastrointestinal disorders. Furthermore, residues of chemical fertilizers in food crops can have long-term health impacts, particularly if consumed in large quantities over time.
Dependency and Resistance: Continuous use of chemical fertilizers can create dependency among farmers, as crops become reliant on external sources of nutrients. Moreover, pests and diseases may develop resistance to chemical pesticides and herbicides associated with chemical fertilizers, leading to the need for stronger chemical inputs and exacerbating environmental and health risks.
Economic Costs: While chemical fertilizers can initially increase crop yields, their long-term use may lead to diminishing returns and increased input costs. Soil degradation, environmental cleanup, and health-related expenses associated with chemical fertilizer use can impose economic burdens on farmers, governments, and society as a whole.
Overall, the disadvantages of chemical fertilizers underscore the importance of adopting sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives, such as natural fertilizers, to promote soil health, biodiversity conservation, and human well-being in agriculture.
